When you’ve booked your next holiday you can’t think of anything better than going for a cruise or sitting down and having a nice meal with your vape pen. However if you are travelling via a plane, whole process can be a little bit daunting especially if you don’t know the proper protocols.
Going through security
Airport rules and regulations apply when you are travelling with your vape pen so be sure to check up on what they are in your country of origin and destination. Many countries only allow liquids of up to 100ml to be taken as hand luggage so if you have any cartridges that are over that amount be sure to put them in your checked baggage.
For the states in particular you have to have all of you liquids in a clear Ziploc bag that goes through the x-ray by itself as well. With all the extra hassle and regulations you may be tempted to just check in all of your vape gear to save you time and effort. However you need to be aware that it has to travel with you as it has a battery in it which must be scanned individually through the x-ray machine. Additionally you should also remember that you won’t be able to use it on the plane at all.
Batteries and flying
Airports have may rules and regulations when it comes to flying with batteries. Lithium-ion batteries are not allowed to be in your checked luggage and should come with you so it can be scanned thoroughly. You also need to be aware that while you can take batteries with you, you can’t transport loose ones. Be sure to leave them in your device as to not lose them altogether.
You should be placing an loose batteries into Ziploc bags for convenience sake and to also make sure that they don’t get confiscated when you are going through security. Also keep in mind that you are not allowed to charge your e-cig in the terminal or on the plane so you will have to wait until you land or do it beforehand as to not waste any time!
Research the country’s rules where you are going
While it may be easy and hassle free to transport your e-cig in your home country you should be aware that other countries have their own rules and regulations about the things. A quick example is that some countries will fine you for using them in public and in Australia it is illegal to import and sell nicotine based liquids as they are considered as a poison. These are some quick ways to ruin your holiday mood so be sure to check up on the rules before you plan your trip in the first place!
It is also important to remember that while you may love vaping and the culture behind it no everyone does. Some countries are less familiar with e-cigs altogether so you should be checking the legality behind it and where you can actually vape before you start blowing those clouds in public. You should also be considerate about the people around you as to not annoy them with your clouds as if they haven’t seen them before they may get a bit angry. Be prepared for some questions about the devices and if you have the answers already to go you may even make a few new friends.
